she turned her nose up at it - she has an in-built aversion to Citroens, it seems!
Anyway, back on topic - the gold car has not seen a road legally since the year 2000.

don't you just love babelfish:
hello, this xm at summer conceived in Holland and this name XM Plé it with failed to be produced but unfortunately the n' project; succeeded forever here translation of l' article of the following bond which speaks about XM Plé bond:
http://www.citroen-andre.com/xmpleproject.html translation: Project XMple, convertible a XM An innovative concept of frame for the convertible ones, based on l' steel and l' aluminium " Project; Xmple” is a joint project of " Hoogovens Profiltechnik" Aluminium; , " Automotive Support" Design; , " International CXA BV, " B' tecc BV " et" Andre pol. " de" Andre Citroen & Partners ". The project proved the feasibility of l' use of extruded aluminium sections for structural applications in the design d' cars light. It also underlines l' engagement Automotive Design Support to contribute an important share to the development process of the car. This work of development d' application aims at the market in rapid growth for the vehicles of niche like the convertibles. The project rests on two specific assets of Hoogovens Aluminium Profiltechnik, namely l' extrusion of profiled with thin walls and assembly profile with l' helps of the robots of welding. Conceives and scale models came CXA International and Andre Citroen. First models and drawings were presented to AutoShow Frankfurt in 1994. At the same time a thorough study marketing was open in order to check the commercial possibilities for a convertible XM with or without the co-operation of l' machine Citroen. During the process of design, Xm ple project seems to have, not only one great potential for Hoogovens ........ Études showed that the d' production; a certain number of convertibles could also be a business success. Decision was made to produce a model with large scales. With this model Hoogovens d' laid out; a large eye-catcher for autoshows various. International CXA could use this full model of size d' to interest the potential investors. In a very short time a d' group; investors was found and 350 orders of the car were taken, based on a selling price from US $ 70.000, -- Various scenarios were elaborate. The d' production; a second batch of 100 numbered very exclusive Xmples was also envisaged. In all our projects, we still hoped for a certain type of co-operation of l' machine Citroen. Since Hoogovens collaborated with Citroen in various projects, this n' was not unrealistic. We realized that the full co-operation was Wishfull to think but to obtain basic cars for a reasonable price would have been enough to make the ground privileged of project. After many meetings, letters and telefaxes qu' it n' d' was not possible; to obtain an answer directly of Citroen. The largest obstacle for the legal department of Citroen was our participation in l' export of Citroen for the USA. Our group of investers s' impatienter. New calculations were carried out. It appeared that we needed d' at least 15% of additional handing-over on price XM base. Note qu' a certain number of European distributors Citroen had offered to us the XM basic one during close to price Nets. As we could not wait eternally, we stopped our d' project; a series production of l' convertible bond XM. One of the 3 prototypes finished like a part d' exposure by IAD in England and is still in possession of l' machine of Hoogovens. 2 other unfinished units gone with a collector in the USA. if not j' have 3 photograph d' one xm convertible to find on the Net, on the other hand j' have any information on the preparer originator of the model here the photograph: in a friendly way, janot

Ohh dear! Poorly written English, translated into French, and back into English again
That car in your post Will looks like it would at least be reasonably water tight. Also the easiest one to make.
That would be a good Xm for your claustrophobia Andrew. Smashing big sunroof.
Its copying the Visa convertible too much:
If the photographer had taken another pictute 10 seconds later, the visa in the background would have completely disintegrated.

The Webasto'd Xm from that French forum article looks like the best way of removing a leaky sunroof too!

Yep, those colour coded s2 door handles look weird. I'm not clautraphobic anywhere else but wonder
if it's because I like a bright airy cabin to feel more at ease making it feel there's good visibilty?
