Took me a little time to bond with the my XM. Although I had driven others years before I bought mine, so I knew what I was in for..well kind of,
But it has certainly taken a little while for me to become comfortable with it. I am enjoying fixing it and sorting out its little foibles. The sunroof has been a good fix.

Good for you. I think the early s2 cars are good cars, easpecially in Exclusive trim. They seem to resist rust like a S1 and are mechanically similar.

I can't believe I turned one down for a paltry sum once.

A few foibles but it was an offer I couldn't resist.
Drove her from Hexham to Castle Douglas on Saturday.
A few different noises from Helene... Definite blow from the exhaust, possibly the manifold as it is very far forward...
She now has a series one black leather interior...
Also she turns off on the key Helene runs on for a good few seconds... Which is correct? Both? Neither?

The blow is likely to be the swivelling joint gasket, the slow stopping has to be the stop solenoid.

Not sure what you mean by turning off ont he key not being correct.

as long as it's not rusty persist, this car will reward you.

In the manual car when I turn off the engine using the key the engine continues to run for a good 3 seconds. She had done this consistently since I got her.
Rust doesn't seem too bad, spare wheel car has disintegrated, now a cage!
