I know who bought it, I did! Car is now residing in Manchester. I wouldn't advise buying a car from whm, he was well aware of when I was collecting the car and it was filthy and unprepared. It's strange the massive list of faults was curiously missing from the eBay listing..... Eml on, steering stiff from cold, takes an age to rise from cold and pump noisy, loud buzzing noise from behind glovebox,coolant brown and horrable. radio only works on 1 channel etc,etc,etc. Still love the car though and once I've sorted its many,many faults will be a great car!

Ha, sounds like a fairly typical WHM buying experience, but they are normally prepped to within an inch of their lives.

It'll be interesting to hear how you get on with this car.

Slow rising can be a sign of good spheres, but the noisy pump indicates air ingress at the suction pipe. Check the clamps are tight.

Buzzing noise from behind the glove box will most likely be a worn indicator switch with worn contacts tracking through metal contaminated grease.
Nudge the indicator switch to see if the noise changes or stops.
Regular XM fault, can eventually start to burn the grease.
Noise is not from the switch but its relay which drops in and out as the switch contacts have the tracking fault.
Relay is usually fine just moving continuously trying to wear itself out.

Second option if the noise is continuous while the ignition is the air temp sensor fan in the roof light.
This always sounds as if the noise is coming from the dash.
