Agree with Dean.
Its been more than fairly offered.
Beware scrapping for bits if you lack space for the car or parts storage.
Actual take up on parts can be quite low and slow.
Car can quickly become an eyesore and then also difficult to get to scrap.

Indeed, parts will not go zooming out the door as i found and when big things need moving it can take a lot of your time.
Its worth keeping all the switches and electrical items and ancillaries in the attic and as they are needed they can be sold off, most other stuff like body panels and interior wont sell too easily unless its leather and even then uptake can be slow.

Re: Battlescar For Sale - please save
Thanks for the info.
Basically, I've got a 2.1 Manual, which makes a grumbling/grinding noise when you go around left-hand corners (i.e. the right hand front wheel is loaded). I replaced the right-hand wheel bearing, which made not a jot of difference, and rather than fiddle along replacing the CV joint, driveshaft bearing etc. until I hit the nail on the head, I thought it might be easier just to replace the entire driveshaft completely with one from another car.
I have no idea whether mine has 29 splines, hollow shafts or whatever, but it is immaterial anyway if the gearbox end of the auto/manual shafts are different.

I would of course take her on. But distance is too far for a risk of driving with a buggered box.... And too far for transporting....
As for parts geoff. The rear subframe really DOES interest me in a big way....

Re: Battlescar For Sale - please save
John and Dean - I have found exactly the same with my Xantia I stripped. Despite a regular watch in the wanted section on FCF I've not shifted anything since the initial tasty bits like leather and a/c.
I have no space to store parts, apart from, as you say, smaller items which I shall keep for my fathers XM.
Looks like a one way ticket then, sadly.
i really appreciate your advice, thank you all.
Rear subframe no problem Paul. I need to be quite organised about this as this is the 3rd car I've scrapped and I'm getting the wrong reputation locally - with one neighbour in particular! So, as I have the whole month ahead of me, it would be handy to have
1)a list of things people actually want and
2) a list of the spares that shouldn't go to the scrappies as they are too hard to come by.

Re: Battlescar For Sale - please save
To make it easyer, the subframe can be left WHOLE with out any stripping..
Id also consider the engine, as I have 3 TD cars around me, one mine, one my land lord and one my mates.... minus the gearbox of course...
struttops dont need mentioning at all... you must keep them.. Im not saying I need them.. I do need some for mine but thats sorted...
Front strut feed pipes and hydractive valve...
Interior is a bit harder... I personally could do with a Centre Leather arm rest...ONLY.. the blasted mice have been having a nibble at the one in my V6 SEi...
