That 2.1 is back on again

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I'll keep it in mind as I'm traveling back home. Let's hope I don't decide that, that would be a disappointment. Did you go and have a look at it?
Steve.
No. I relied on Peters report, the photographs and the sellers honesty in answering questions.

This was his reply to my MOT doc Q.
911682039142, no issues that I know of with the suspension tops.
I'd have had it but didn't realise I was going to be bidding against the Bank of England... :D
I waited until well into the last minute then your terminial bid was £100 above my 'limit', so decided not to bid.

If you need anything or just want to show it off on the way home give me a ring. PM on the way.

Hi Steve

Coming out of bridgwater, when you see the station on the left, follow the road round the 'S' bend and you need the second turning on the left. I could actually see the road from the station but its not as easy as it looks to find it. Hope you get on OK, seems a nice car to me. It may be possible to clamp the hoses with a couple of pairs of mole grips, you really need ones with flat jaws. Keep us posted.

Think it was XMX.

For me he forum was staggering around this afternoon like a drunk or rollerskates!!

All OK now and yes edit is back - certainly on my machine at home. I wouldn't care
the machine at work is the equivalent of a 24v v6 on steriods whereas this one is more
like a 2.1 TD... Guess I should've been working anyhow.

Does the cooling circuit not need to flow through the matrix to complete a loop
- restricting the flow blocking it would surely do it no good whatsoever.

This "rescue" of the s1 wed wun should be a blog Steve?

Steve, I have a spare heater matrix (Not For Sale) if I get time I'll try to measure it up for you and report back !
In the mean time take a look at THIS forum post of mine with some links to the Club-XM forum which may be of interest to you !

Hi PeterN

Have sent an PM about a 95 2.1TD on ebay.
Not quite to your spec but close to home.

When the heater matrix on my first XM started scalding my foot in some remote part of France I simply screwed a self tapping screw into the hole and promptly forgot about it. It was months before it sprung another leak. However the hole was in such a place that I could put the screw in simply by contorting in the foot well.

John must be talking in code as curiousity got me having a search which only turned up x2
WHM fancifully priced mutton sold as lamb cars! I considered eBay.fr but it's supposed to be
'local'. I checked completed listings too so either it's VERY badly described or it's been pulled
and/or had an offer.

Hi folks.

The intention was to bypass the heater matrix rather than block it. The pipe I had wasn't big enough to fit over the metal pipes but was a reasonable fit internally so I shoved it inside the metal pipes and gave it a wrap of gaffer tape to get me to the local car spares shop. I'm typing this at the services on the M42 whilst having a drink and a bite to eat. The car's going well but it's a bit cold even though I'm wrapped up. More to follow.
