Alloys Wanted

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

There were only two types of alloys used on S2 Xm...Speedline and Montecarlo.

The Montecarlo's seem to suffer with buckling and being centre less, can be awkward to find someone to balance them.

I sold my Montecarlo wheels because I couldn't get them balanced anywhere. I now have a set of Volvo wheels fitted which areb16" instead of 15", but same PCD and offset, I think they suit the XM really well and although not original they are period correct

Only the first years production of Exclusive Mk 2 XM's were fitted with V6-24v alloys.
VSX cars and estates had Etoille's as an option.
Exclusives from 96 model year on to around 98 got Montecarlos which then changed to Ville de Montecarlo.
Around 98 the Etoille design changed to centreless to match the Montecarlo design.
There are a few of these about and are best avoided for the same reason as with the Montecarlos.
These centreless wheels have a thinner metal cross-section.
There are a few reports of owners machining out the centres to fit the standard caps.
Not a practice I would recommend.

If I was going to the trouble of filling the rubbing strips, I would probably paint them in body colour...but then i'd keep the wheels silver.

Is you gettin' much reactions to your Xm?
