Hi Do any of you know of a generic code reader that will read my 1996 xm I have bought 2 actia vci clones 3 different software 3 different 30 to 16 plugs and all get to the same place turn ignition off and on again, I have got in to car with an old delphi clone a few times but thats not that reliable so if anyone has suggestions that do not include diagbox/lexia have tried most things to get the thing running vci checker etc and many suggestion that i have read on here and FCF if I go into vci configure it will say something like not the same as saved parameters but do not know what it should say on that page and haven't found anything on internet with what the parameters should be.
Yours very frustrated
Tim

Have you tried using a Blink Code Reader?

http://www.club-xm.co.uk/forum/viewtopi ... der#p85892

Do you have a specific issue, or just want to check the Ecu for stored faults.

The issue of no connection may be the connector onto the 30 pin socket either not plugging in fully, or not having the correct contacts made.

Thanks for replying
I have tried 3 30 pin connector one of which is wired very slightly different. I have not tried blink code reader could be the way to go how do you know what blinks mean what, I only really want to look at fault codes but it would be nice to be able to get in to ecu's and make sure they are all ok

Thank again
Tim

I have had the same problem with a (PRV) 605. No connection to ECUs at all. Same system with same 30-pin plug worked fine on a Series 1 Xantia. Sorry can't help - never solved it.

Is the Delphi compatible with the protocol used on the Citroen Ecu's and are the Mux and lead connections correct for the Citroen 30 pin socket?

I've not tried a blink code reader on S2 engine Ecu's, but it definitely works for Hydractive.
Just connect to the appropriate pin...which is what the mux does when using any diagnostic device.

The details and fault codes list are in the Blink Code Reader thread, linked to in my previous post.

Checking out the 30-pin socket with Lexia might be worthwhile.
It stuck for one, there are four in your area (Ashford, Edenbridge, Hastings and Hastings) listed on FCF, members happy to help others.
On FCF, log in, and go Board Index > Supersticky > Topics > Lexia locations, where there's a map.

Thank you everyone taking on board what you have said will first test 30 pin leads, and the Delphi has connected before but not reliably and will purchase a blink code reader if all else fails I will look up someone with Lexia

Thanks
Tim

Hi
Has anyone got blink code reader they don't want or can make me one up for me for a price of course, not sure where I would be able to get bits.

Thanks
Tim
