People are scared of fuel pump leaks.. must admit me too. I've never opened a bosch pump .. when I did open a xantia one it frightened me and I never put it back together I had already xm 2.1 pump on a project car.. I changed it for another non leaky one instead of fitting a seal kit.

yeah true. Although mine is (hopefully) just the solenoid block o rings. I should pull my finger out and try and get them swapped over

By the way, info re the reason why the car would not start.
I was in contact with the buyer, and the reason it would not start was that the battery had not been connected tightly enough. I knew it would be something silly. The car is in excellent shape apart from the tyres to be replaced and the paint in need of spraying. Apart from these, this particular car was and still is in excellent shape.
That is excellent for the buyer ! He made a bargain purchase ! Good for him !

I hope someone took it. It is such a shame to see it wasted. I have already had complaints from neighbours that I park to of our 4 cars (1 belonging to my son) on the road, and I just can't have more.

It has been sold and will go back on the road.
I think there was no doubt this was a good Xm to save, the issue is really that the remedial work for the paint damage is going to cost more than the current value of the car, as, at present there isn't much appreciation for Xm other than by people that have actually owned and driven one...

Most people can't readily find space for an extra project Xm.
Once a car has no longer has current Mot, the costs for transport become significant, especially if it either doesn't run, and in a Citroens case, has sunk suspension.
Getting quotes to shift a flat tyre, sunk, no-start Xm, to be moved in a hurry is an amusing process.
The car wasn't ideal for my preferences, but it is low mileage, sound condition, nice interior condition, the sunroof-less roofline is nicer and the interior stays drier, allied to, this car being in a really good colour...it was very tempting.

It isn't me that has purchased the car, however, as an xm enthusiast, I would like to say thanks to Thor'sXm for persevering with the sale, the car will be infamous within the Uk, Xm community.

I know where and who has it and it will be used nicely. As a non sunroof car it was body shell envy for im sure will and me as we both prefer non sunroof shells.
