It means it's off the road, so does anyone know where I could look to obtain such a thing ?

There is no octopus on an XM, but I understand what you mean...the Hydraulic Oil Back Harness, p/n 5270 L3.
I don't think you will find a new one anywhere, so look for a used part, or make one up. It's only a low pressure oil return pipe with another joined to it.
