the Forums old Sales and Wants posts but couldn't find/spot anything so I've posted up anyway.

Yes,

This car was on e-bay before during the summer (same pictures and location). I can tell you what it went for when I get back to work on Monday.

There's something very iffy about all these Citroen's in the St Neots, King's Lynn, Diss "triangle"
but call me paranoid if you like. I recall the pictures before but the text looks different as if
a new seller is using old saved pictures. Nice car for Count Funkula though!!

You're not keeping a tally of prices, registrations and location of all ebay/autotrader
cars on a spreadsheet on the PC? May actually be a good idea in a sad anorak, I'm
going to buy another Xm kinda way.

Well I am Andrew,

It is mainly to monitor prices for the higher value stuff, and to have some adverts to show insurers if it comes to that, to show them how much it would cost me to find a suitable replacement car if the need ever arises.

Also its handy to follow the cars around the different trader/sellers or to see where they have sourced their car, and what they paid, and what mark up they have on it. It also is handy for the case of George's 2.0 SEI car with the supposed low mileage, to refer back to an advert that said the car had a much higher mileage and repalcement clocks etc etc.

As I've said to Peter just the other day, the degree of 'anorak' is simply an indication of genuine enthusiasm and
interest (passion even) for something others may not value/understand!

I wondered Robert: not a bad idea for insurance actually, I hadn't seen that angle for certainly market value. Whilst
it's more realistc on eBay, we don't really know if WHM sell their cars for the chunky price tags wouldn't this possibly
give you a lower value for insurance?

.
It sold for £520 last time.......three months ago.

I see he's giving away a new dot matrix with it, maybe one of those that sold on ebay recently, surely he didn't actually pay 400 quid for it (nearly as much as the car....... if he did, I'm sure it will be reflected in the reserve price.

I wonder if the car is still as shiny now...............three months later?

The WHM and Roger Bradford Prices are inflated, they can't sell them for that much, but you could adjust it for a reasonable bit of negotiation as well. Its damage limitation as well. I wouldn't be expecting WHM money from the insurers, but instead of getting given what the insurers deem the market value of an older car, which would probably be little more than most peoples excesses. I would rather get the value that some of the more expensive cars have made on e-bay, typically over a grand.

The other thing though, my 2 good XMs, 38K 2.0Si, and 90K 2.1 TD would be very hard to replace like for like.

This time with only three seconds to go (18 bids £520 - still Reserve not met) two seconds to go something flashed up but I didn't quite see the price etc. and then 1 second to go Reserve Met 20 Bids £700, zero second SOLD !
Did anyone off the Forum secure this beauty then :?:
