I reckon he is trying to blackmail someone into buying it, threatening to break. I reckon £500.00 should do it.

You're right...Me..!!
We had a chat and I made a very good offer and he said he would call back with more detail, then he sent a text asking for more. The strut tops are well past their best and there is still the headroom issue, which since driving one on Sunday has really come home to me again....Hmm..Not sure...
I think at this age there is a good chance of the H/G being in trouble too.
My offer was well over £500 BTW.
Anyone in worthing area can have a proper look at this car, especially underneath?

Silly saying he'll scrap it - don't think the scrap values are that much and
does he want to spread bits all about the place? Nice looking car too!
No point buying the car if you can't comfortably fit in it mind Dieselman!
Did you say you've tried sitting in a non electric seats Xm or estate - are
they any better in headroom?

He reckons he could break it and get his money, but that dosn't tally with a quick sale..
The seat height thing is a conundrum as they are all too high with a sunroof. What I can't work out is how I did nearly 100k miles in two XM's some years ago....??

I'm told you get shorter in height the older you get? You're getting your hair cut right!?
Only the Xantia range went standard AC no sunroof from about '94/5 and the Xm kept them
standard - not sure it's something down to the upholstery of the actual seats themselves?

This weekend I tried several series 1 and series 2 cars with material and leather seats. All were the same as far as headroom goes...
But I did try two series 2 WITHOUT sunroofs....someone is supposed to be calling me or sending some details.....you never know...

You're still growing
It's the sunroof, it acts like a greenhouse
Paul
ps I haven't noticed any diference between electric and manual seats either.

Silly question I know but did you have the seat on its lowest setting? If you wait I expect the price will come down. I wouldn't worry about the strut tops if they just look rusty, all of mine do and I just squirt some oil over them, it creeps in underneath as well, and no, I have never had a problem with the rubbers perishing as a result, and I've been doing it for years.
