Even when not single, no woman ever dared try to tell me what car to drive, in fact in my house, *I* dictated the car choices! :D

Hi guys

Thanks for highlighting the auction. I've sold it this evening which I must say took me by surprise in terms of I felt slightly emotional about it. However, I've got it til next Sunday (21st) so a few miles of enjoyment yet.

To cut a long story short, no my missus hasn't said 'it has to go' - the opposite in fact, even though she's driven it about twice. No, as mentioned in the advert, I've got the opportunity to purchase a rather nice (and inexpensive) Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit from 1980. Yes, I did say 'nice', 'inexpensive' and 'Rolls-Royce' in the same sentence - it's through a family member, hence the low price. I'm just not 100% sure yet on using it as a daily driver, that's what's holding me back - plus that it's got it's MOT to get through next week... So, if that doesn't come off I need a bit of inspiration: I know they're a bit of an old fart's car but I've always had a soft spot for Rover 75s and despite a rather naff experience last time round, I'd consider an Alfa 166 again... I was considering a high spect Renault Vel Satis or Avantime before but their values are starting to creep upwards, so unless someone fancies parting with a Citroen C6 nice and cheaply that'll be me without a Gallic car for a little while. C5's just don't hold enough interest for me :-(

Anyway, the new owner says he's frequented here before and I've pointed him to look more frequently so say hello if he pops on again :-)

Cheers

Keith

Hi Keith,

Well good luck with whatever you go for, the only trouble i would have with a cheap roller is resisting the urge to drive it into a swimming pool............................
