It could be made into a respectable car quite easily. Re-attach the rear bumper, new side lamp, new indicator lens, new sunroof drain pipes.
The rear arm bearings, is he mistaken, and its the drop links rattling? The rear arm bearings on my Cx were shot, it creaked when it was rising up on start up. But never any other time. The tell tale sign being the wheels leaning in at the top, and uneven tyre wear.

Ive just read the Listing..
The knocking on the reear wont be rear bearings, it VERY likely to be the anti roll bar!! What happens is the Bolts come loose, the spacer drops out and the roll bar is free to move!!
I know this from experiance with my V6! And it drove me Bonkers! The bolts that go through the bar to the Arm had come loose, but also wouldn't tighten up.. This gave the impression of a a Drop link out, infact it wasn't
Paul
PS: My SED had started to do this also, but we caught that in time, and the bolts tightend up... ONLY just though!
So thats Two cars Ive found this problem on.
