Aux air valve wanted

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Paul.

Don't suppose there's a spare 2.0i TURBO engine going spare then?
I don't fancy scrapping an otherwise good XM to rescue ANOTHER of my Activae...

don't ask!!  :?

Andrew,

Right the story goes... Theres a spare Block and auto box in the shead, with a Turbo head sitting on it with no gasket, head has slight alloy pitting on it..

Theres a COMPLETE running turbo engine IN the Black Onyx, as seen on Club XM.com, however, it suffers HIGH oil consumption.. I did however put a NEW head gasket, Valve seals, water pump and cam belt on it when I did the head gasket.. SO Either, an oil seal is a drift - which is unlikly because it HARDLEY smokes AT ALL, or its leaking from somewere!! But the loss is related to engine revs... higher the revs more it uses, on a constant cruise it donesn't use much.. THIS engine will become a spare because Ill be getting a replacment engine to go in... ready to sell on!!

So, in theroy NO ive not got a GOOD spare engine, but more so bits of engines to speak of...

Regards
Paul

Andrew

The head is the same on the n/a and turbo's all you have to swap is the cam shaft, easy 8-) if thats all thats wrong with yours.

Paul unfortunatly although the gubbins are the same in the turbo valve the body is slightly different because it mounts on the battery box on the turbo as you probably know but fits straight into the inlet manifold on the N/A, thanks for the offer though.
Also your oil consumption sounds very much like valve stem seals, did you sometimes get a little puff of blue smoke on startup when it was running?

Paul, could the lpg be wrecking havoc with the oil consumption. Is the oil being burnt out due
to "iffy" lubrication in the engine? I just don't believe in coincidences...

I dont think so Andrew - but cant be certain about that either...

Shes a Gas injection system, and as I said earlyer, theres little or no smoke in the exhaust too!!

Im not really prepared to spend on another gasket to see if it is a valve seal.. hence changing the engine for a KNOWN good unit before I get her up for sale...

Yes! I WILL find it easyer to put an engine and box in, over removing the head again!!

Mad?? Yes I am!! Too much spare time on my own I reckon!

mmmm, thats interesting, if its not dropping it on the floor.....if its losing a lot of oil i cant see it would be disapearing without some warning signs, are the crankcase breather pipes clear?
i doubt you misfitted the stem seals, although you do doubt yourself sometimes after jobs even though you did do it right, well i do anyway :D

Ive heard they are the same on the V6 somewhere actualy, do they look like this

Because if so i may have to exchange some beer tokens with you fore one :D
