We are reluctantly selling our trusty (and stylish!) XM.

We have a new baby and too many cars, and I can no

longer look after them all in the way I'd like.

I bought this car almost 4 years ago when it had 76,000 miles. It had been traded in by the first owner. Comes with the original manuals etc. It has now done 111,000 miles.

It has been extremely reliable. A new steering rack and clutch were fitted by our local independent Citroen specialists (2008, receipts provided). Other than that the car has had regular services (oil, filters etc), fuel pump reconditioned, all spheres replaced and recent glowplugs. Next on the list is to get the cambelt changed - it was last done at 70,000 but that was a few years ago so I would rather be sure.

Car is MOT'd until until 19th December and taxed until end of December too. No advisories on MOT. Tax will be included at the asking price.

The car is in excellent condition for its year. Good points:

Full black leather interior with very little sign of any wear;

All 4 tyres recent;

Both dot matrix displays work perfectly;

Suspension spheres replaced (by Westroen) 2008;

Engine pulls well and cleanly - and amazingly economically; The most comfortable car we have ever had, especially wafting along on motorways;

I had a towbar fitted as I have used it to tow old Fiat Pandas |seem to collect them too);

JVC CD player fitted;

Electric sunroof, seats etc work perfectly, all 4 windows work fine (one is sometimes slow but gets there).

As ever there are a few issues! Some of these are very easy to fix but I just haven't had the time |(hence I'd rather it went to someone who does and can look after it better than me):

Lacquer has lifted on alloys;

The driver's door lock got damaged by ice last winter and now just turns. I believe this is repairable but have bought a full spare set (update: have now fitted the replacement lock, so all working fine);

Small dent on n/s door where wing mirror was knocked back, a few other minor dents etc commensurate with age; Heater temp hard to control - tends to stick on "slightly warm' which means it's not a problem, just control heat with the fan and vents;

Bonnet release cable snapped, but bonnet easily opened from outside once you know how;

Poor connection on secondary rear light - should be easy fix and the other one works (there are 2 each side).

Sill has been dented behind front wheel where (I presume) a clumsy tyre depot has missed the jacking point (update - now

repaired by local bodywork specialist but at the same time they resprayed the bottom of the o/s front wing and colour match is not right (apparently there are 3 shades on this colour code) , so I will get the right paint and get it sorted.);
Definitely a classic car (values are going up too) but totally useable - this car has taken us regularly on 700 mile day trips at almost 50mpg, and still had some left in the tank!! PS Photos now added.
