Hi All,

I am pleased to report that fairly good progress is being made with the restoration of my latest acquisition, a 1990 ā€˜G’ plate XM V6sei auto, for which a few replacement parts are required, as follows:

- Rear door, right/offside, ideally in light grey/ Platinum.
- Front door rubbing strip chrome inserts.
- Front sidelight, right/offside.
- Triangular plastic trim piece between mirror and scuttle, right/offside, preferably in grey rather than black.
- Front wheel arch liner lozenge shaped rubber plugs.
- Exhaust front, middle and rear silencers (as V6 estate and rear box as 2.1td).
- Tyre, Michelin MXV2 205/60 R15 91V, standard series one V6 and 2.0 petrol turbo spare.
- Front suspension strut tops.
- Front plastic console main section around gear and height adjustment levers and other controls.
- Boot hydraulic strut lower spindle mount (onto body).
- Boot catch plastic cover (depresses light switch).
- Boot removable carpet lining.
- Boot rear light cover rotating catch.

If anyone could assist I would be really grateful (thinking of Citroen XM and XM Exclusive in particular!!) and I am looking forward to attendance at the Northern Rally where collection and payment could be arranged. I attach a recent photo of the car following my initial work.

With thanks and regards,

Matthew T.

Hi Matthew,

Your car is looking great after all that cleaning an polishing.

I should be able to help you with some of the bits you require.

I have a plain black gear lever surround for an automatic if that is of intrest, and the boot rear lamp cover catch you need.

Regards

Robert

Many thanks Robert and I hope to catch you at Wetherby - I plan to arrive on Friday late pm and leave Sunday around midday. Apologies that I was not very clear, but it is the complete console surround that I am after, which sits onto the raised carpet hump, since the original has been slightly spoilt by telephone brackets and the arm rest rear fixings are also broken. I am pleased to report that I put the car in for a MOT expecting it to fail on corroded cills and a slightly blowing exhaust, although only one cill location was critical and the single other item was a spilt drive shaft outer gaitor. All the best, Matthew T.

It's amazing what a bloody good polish can do ;)

I see what you mean now Matthew.

the nexrt time I'll be over in the GB with a car will be the CXM in September. Perhaps it will be easier to get these bits from Paul or John.

Let me know how you get on.

You were lucky with the MOT, I would have been expecting a longer list for a car that has been off the road for a period of time like that.

Looks Good!
Id be tempted to contact Brian Primmer for the chrome inserts, as they will look brand new all round!

Unfortunately you can't get the stainless steel inserts for the front and rear bumpers. Only for the sides.

Hi Matthew

Im looking at your list, Im comming to Wetherby on Saturday, MIGHT be able to help with a door, but it will be Gold (I think) or Bronze...

Strut tops, dont we all need some! My SED is desperate for some, but not got any just yet..

Is it the Trim on the end of the Scuttle, that just clips on??

Should have one or two, quite possibly in Grey too...

Rubber plugs, All over the place recently, but not sure if I can put my hand on them

Should be able to spare a rear box, theres a good few of those about.. but not the rest - sorry
Try www.onlineautomotive.co.uk for exhaust parts, I found them quite reasonable.

Paul
