Wanted: Roof rack

Having taken the XM away for a bank holiday camping trip, I can see that I need a bit more luggage space. A roof box seems to be the answer, and as I'm trying to do it on a budget, thought I'd ask if anyone has got roof bars or a roof rack that they don't use.

I have some roof bars for an estate - or is yours a hatch?
