WTB Series 1 Gear knob/lever and RHS indicator

Hi everyone,

First time over in this forum and I have to be rude and start with a request. The plastic gear shift knob in my 1990 V6 has disintegrated on me, and I have been looking for a replacement. I've been advised an astronomical price for a genuine one (200 pounds!), and that aftermarket ones won't fit as it doesn't screw on like in most cars. Has anyone had any experience replacing one? Ideally black plastic or leather.

I'm getting the clutch replaced next week, and the other option that I've been advised is to replace the entire gear lever with another one that has a good gearknob. This may be the best time to do it. So if anyone has a replacement gearknob or an entire gear lever with gearknob (for a S1 V6) then I'm interested! Must be willing to ship overseas but I'm happy to use paypal of course.

I also need a RHS front indicator light, as mine has been lowered onto a curb at some point. I can't find any breakers with an XM still in New Zealand!

Cheers,
Dave

If im not mistaken Xantia's one should fit. Alternatively you can glue the existing one and warp it up with a new leather.

Welcome Dave,

The gear knob will just pull off the gear lever, but if yours is disintegrating, then it will just break up, and leave a solid bit of plastic to pull off the gear lever.

Thanks for the replies. The soft plastic outer of the gearknob has fallen apart and is now gone, leaving just the shift pattern and solid plastic centre. I'll have a look for a Xantia one if that works.
