Can someone please save this poor XM from an untimely death by a crazed French Yob!
The seller bought it from an old English couple, who were selling it because of light damage to the passengers side door. It has only done 68K!

Chaps,
I called the seller about this car and he is English and has a garage (or works in a garage) near Bordeaux.
He wants €500 for the car.

Yes Paul,
You're right, but there are a lot of other cars that I want also. But I don't need this car, I can't justify it, I already have 2 low mileage XMs.
If I was going to buy another XM, I would go full hog and get a Series 1 24V V6, or a Series 2 24V V6 if the price was right.
I still think that it needs to be saved from death by French yob.
Out of curiosity how much thirstier are these turbo petrols over the normally aspirated 2.0 8Vs?

They can't be too much thirstier if you're driving in a sensible fashion, the MPG of the 8v N/A isn't far off V6 figures.
Certainly that auto one I had for a week didn't seem anymore overly thirsty than the 8v would be.

The Turbo unit is about as bad as the V6! IF NOT I think its worse then a V6 (12v)
A forced inducted engine can almost be as bad if not worse in most cases then a N/a engine....
I was not impressed by the Turbo.. it was the nosy thrashey character of the 4 cylinder unit more then anything.
I guess ive been spoilt by having a 12v V6 from the off really...
Start saving NOW for a S1 24v then...
