TCT Auto Exclusive for sale
I'm getting rid of mine-- just spending a little more time than I have on it.
Can't imagine many folk here will want it as:
A It's petrol
B It's automatic
C It's an S2
I've never really had the time to look into the suspension at the front. It's never been as soft as I'd like it. It also probably needs the exhaust manifold lookign at before the next MoT.
Anyway, here it is:

Hi Matt,
Are these the only things that are making you sell your car?
It sounds like shes stuck in hard mode, and the exhaust manifold blow is a pain, but its worth sorting out as well.
Otherwise it looks like a nice car.

Hi Robert,
It's not stuck in hard mode. Never worked out what the problem is. It's fitted with an ecrofting kit, all the spheres replaced, hydraflushed, etc.
I had to fix the air con and the fuel pump while on holiday. I'm just not perpared to put the time in. I love the car, but I also love my 3-year-old daughter and it would be nice to spend a weekend with her instead of under the car.
Frankly, I don't have the mechanical expertise to maintain it properly either.

Looks like a lovely car - I truly hope it doesn't get puggered for the sake of the engine fitting
into a supermarket trolley deathtrap. That starting bid is low enough to entice the bstards.

Given the body damage, the blowing exhaust, and "niche" popularity of petrol auto Citroen XM's I think £300 is a reasonable starting price. When I paid £500 for it two years ago I was the sole bidder.

If anybody was interested in this...I've had to pull the listing temporarily as I've just discovered it has a VIC marker against it after it was dented by a lorry (thank-you for telling me, 3rd party insurance company).
Anyway, I can't relist it until it's been to a VOSA station on September 6.

The /\ (VIC) topic has recently been discussed in a very lively thread on the BXC FORUM !

Re: TCT Auto Exclusive for sale
Hi All
The VIC (vehicle identity check) rules are interesting.
They are intended to make car "ringing" much more difficult.
If your car is involved in an accident and subsequently notified to the DVLA as 'written off' by an insurer but you decide to keep the car to repair yourself it may still get a VIC marker. You should still have the V5C and you can legally drive the car as long as it is liscenced, has a valid MOT, is roadworthy and you have the appropriate insurance cover. However if a VIC marker is set DVLA will not issue you with a V11 or a new V5C if you should need a replacement. This could cause you some inconvinience. For example no new V5C for a new address if you move. Gets worse for a purchaser of a car with a VIC marker.
Note that the insurance company does not have to tell the owner that a VIC marker is set. It is the owners responsibility to check with the DVLA.
Many insurance claims are settled without the VIC status being mentioned in the correspondance so I can understand how sellers fail to realise the VIC exists.
If you buy a car without a V5C or that requires a VIC you may not be able to register or licence the car until the car has passed a VIC.
The VIC is a once only test. Unlike the MOT you may not watch the test in progress or know its contents. If the car fails no retest is permitted only appeal against the stated failure item.
For full VIC details see VOSA/DVLA booklet INF133.
