1997 Green XM 2.1TD VSX Manual For Sale now been for MoT

I have for sale a 1997 XM VSX 2.1TD - it is in green metallic, has not been on the road since August 2005 but has been garaged in a warm and dry garage all that time. It has 186,000 miles on the clock and starts on the button.
It will need a new battery but is going in for an MOT and any faults found will be listed as soon as I have them. Back is a tad bouncy but the front suspension appears OK - almost full service history with lots (and I mean lots) of receipts. It has tidy cloth seats, is very clean - there is a tiny dent on the bonnet on the passenger side.
Obviously, having been sat since 2005, it would benefit from a good service and a belt change - I know I would.
purchased by previous owner in 99, at 56k and he's had it till now.
New exhaust at 165000, new disks at 169k and cambelt at 149k (in July 02)
As far as I can tell the one major fault is that the sunroof tilts but does not move back - the two displays work OK and it does have climate control.
£XXX - PM me for more details and pictures as of tomorrow. Will update thread with details of its MoT when it gets tested.

Nope. I had a S1 and a S1.5 and now the S1 again.
Being honest it's the S2 dashboard and lack of spoiler put me off an S2, I actually like the front grille.

change the rear hatch for an SI one - sorted! I also prefer the Si dash and hatch but beggars can't be choosers!

I used to be Pro series 1, until I got a series 2.
I really like the series 1 dash, it looks class. But I prefer to use a series 2 car day to day. You have better sound insulation, better door mirrors, HF plips, I like the s2 dash as well. I couldn't be bothered about the spoilers to be honest, but I like the series 1 grille, very Knight rider in style. I like the S2 grille also and front bumper treatment.

I own s1 and s2 and drive them back to back and am convinced the sound insulation is all in
the mind - a placebo effect for s2 owners. Clever betting money may very well isolate the
mirrors not only for the greater nearside visibility but also the possible quieter motorway
blatting - who knows, I'm only speculating.
I just cannot live with the spindly excuse s2 spoiler and the family-face-to-match-the-Xsara
front grille treatment. It's not like I have shoddy s2's either - a black 2.5 Exclusive, a maroon
2.5 VSX, a green 2.1TD manual estate and a palmed out onto my father VSX 1999 2.1TD auto.
No accident the only auto in the list isn't something I want to be bothered with any more.
I just feel happiest in the s1 interior, preferably with a petrol manual at the sharp end;
hey that's probably why I keep buying V6 manuals when I see one to keep me going for a
while...

...there are some mechanical construction improvements on the S2 which make working on it a little easier.
