Cheap set of alloys....wobbly web/starfish/etc

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Cheap set of alloys....wobbly web/starfish/etc

Post by minijet » Mon Jun 01, 2009 9:14 am

.

One for Chris maybe?

A set of your favourite XM alloys......at knock down price :)

I wouldn't mind them for the set of tyres alone, but as usual, they're miles away :x ......Andrew's part of the world by the look of it........

Go on Andrew, go for them! Only two hours to go and no bidders! I'd have bid but they're too small (195) and too far away.

I did! Yay!
But they're 60 section 195's! Booo!

On the upside however, they're about 15 miles from where I sit here now and far nicer than the
moiley round the edges wheeltrims on the red 2.5 TD. The wheels do look straight and smart, and yes,
they are a cheap set of alloys; my problem is I've got used to getting whole cars attached to them
for very little additional outlay! :o

Just been outside and had a looksee at all my cars parked nearby to actually see what sizes I'm running on!

ALL of'em (INCLUDING THE XANTIAE!!) are on 205 60's. The way I DON'T rack up the miles of my tyres due
to regular squad rotation means it may be some time before I'd wear the newly ebayed one's to actually
need to replace the treads; I guess it depends on what breed of tyre they come with and how confidence
inspiring they appear to be...

Actually, I've just checked the service history for a few of the other cars and I'm slightly fibbing!

The W plate 2.1TD is running on 205 65's and the auto Xantia VSX is running on positively
balloonesque 185 65 15's! What numpty decided to run wobbly web alloys with 195 60's?

I've seen tyre places who've been unable to actually offer a customer a correctly requested tyre
"the nearest size that won't make any real difference" in the past... :?

Ooo id have had these! Nice buy Andrew :D

The 2.0 16vs come with 195/65/15 so 60s would be fine for those, some Xms did come with 195.60 didnt they, infact i think thats what my wobby webs had on them when i got them from Dean.

I really wanted to get those wheels with their being SO local: sadly the car they were off was totally
shredded as scrap!! :?

This was despite my winning the bidding on ebay for it on a Friday evening but with various issues I
was delayed making contact until the Monday morning to find the running up bidder was offered it;
he couldn't shift it on after a few weeks and just threw it away!! Silver 70k genuine miles FCSH
2.0i auto Si in full gwo... :(

some folk are just TOO impatient.

You've been off the forum a while recently Chris; trust everything is OK for you?
Hope you're not having 'difficulties' too!? Guess there's now a fair bit to catch up with here for you!
