I must admit, i don't think i would like the fuel bill for an auto , i find the TCT just tollerable !, i am in the market for a realy nice diesel Xm, i will be putting my TCT on the market , but not until i find the right one , if i can get not much more than i paid for it, then that would give me 1k - 1.5k for it's replacement

The hunt continues, on will turn up eventualy,
WHM 's one on flea-bay is right up my street, but not at that price

So am I but I'm beginning to give up hope, the last Mk2 2.1 manual estate I saw for sale was nearly two years ago, and I bought it., there don't even seem to be any Mk1s about now, I had even thought converting an auto, haven't seen any of those lately, I had even pondered the idea of a 2.5 - not many of those either :(

Hi Peter,

Buy an auto, and drive it until it breaks, and then do a conversion. It may surprise you how long it goes on, and the auto box may not even be the finishing of it either, with rust being the big XM killer.

Peter,

Give over, the S1.5 cars are much better then the S2 cars ;)

Id far rather a S1.5 car, ones with the suspension issues sorted from factory, the ones with Sorted earths (Still need to add an extra earth to the rear lamps to body)

The problem isn't entirely auto box's but finding a low enough milage one! However, being head gasket friendly that should NOT be a worry either, they are no were near as hard as I was lead to beleve from other peoples troubles.... :!:

Paul, Robert,

I'm keeping an open mid at the moment and just watching the market. We are off on our north of Scotland jaunt in a couple of weeks, probably in the BMW as I haven't done a long journey in it yet - you never know I might get to like it
