Another black 2.5 Exclusive!!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1995-CITROEN-XM-E ... 0570386200
Hi, here I have for sale my Citroen 2.5 TD Exclusive.
The car is sold as spares or repair as it hasn't got MOT or TAX. However, it would be a shame not to see this car back on the road as it has all possible extras and would be the perfect restoration project for a Citroen enthusiast.
I have owned the car since 1998 but had it stored in a garage since 2000 hoping to restore the car but never found the time to complete it.
Just before I decided to take it of the road it had the following repairs completed:
- Stainless Steel Exhaust, No need to renew again (£564)
- Hydraulic Pump and Pump Belt
- Steering Rack and Power Steer
- Cambelt
- Diesel Injectors
- Front Discs and Pads
Faults that I know of are:
The front brakes do not release properly which I suspect is due to some of the spheres having lost pressure over the years -the pistons could easily be pushed back using the special tool needed for this.
There is a CapScrew ( DIAM 10x15020 ) missing that connects the right-hand strut to the front subframe.
Air condition needs refilling.
Bodywork has some scratches but no dents and to my knowledge the car has never been involved in any accidents.
The interior is all black leather with some grey wear showing on the outside of the driver’s seat.
The car was first owned by a chauffeur company in Derby which explains the high mileage and apparently often used by the CEO of Rolls-Royce.
If you need more info, send me a message and I'll provide my phone number.
Happy bidding!
The SS exhaust could certainly be worth the start bid let alone the smart 24v rims...
Stood since 2000 - sound familar messerschmitt owner?

From the mileage it needed the 10 year rest.
It had been doing over 60 k a year from new.

Cars like that though want for nothing and being so new when they're clocking
up the big motorway miles probably had everything changed like Police traffic
cars likely at a specialist if not the Main Dealer. it may still drive with a nice
fresh 'tight' feel but on the other hand...
what's he on about with the attaching the front strut to the subframe bit? Drop link to ARB?
Mind, I've driven a s1 24v v6 without one drop link and the ride was better than a Cx's!!

When XM's were first new my Brother knew a Taxi driver or executive car hire driver, that had an XM and did 100k miles in a year in it.
He thought it was good..

The last but one I sold had done 292,000 and was still on the original clutch! The only place that usually shows any wear is the steering wheel, the black gloss comes off fairly linearly with mileage, practically everything else shows little or no wear.
....Pity its not a 2.1 estate
