Well, that may be more possible than you realise! There's a s1 currently being scrapped
in Stroud that has a partially dismatled dash already where it won't matter chopping
large tracts of the wiring loom out - in fact you could get the whole loom if you need
it but there'll be a chunk cut off it for Robert's electric armrest mechanism; unless Robert
want's to run power to the mechanism differently from the lighter feed as mentioned
elsewhere?

It's a few weeks away yet (possibly) from seeing a weighbridge so see what messerschmitt
owner Campbell says as far as instruments, warning display and centre console ownership
are concerned.

I would not want the instruments, or the dispalys, thses woudl be swapped over from the dash I have.

I do know the S2 instruments are pysically the same size/shape, but the plugs are all differnt (desipite being the same plugs.. the poaitions of the wires are all differnt!! and the S2 ones have a speed signal) there should be no need for chopping anything as I did invetiagte this some time agoe, and the dash loom does unplug from teh rest of the car (its how it was made.. the dash unit will have been wired up and then fitted to the car and plugged in) So what I would do is use the S2 dash loom to and extend /shorten the wires to teh realveant switches, then just fit it! But I have remebers why the idea stalled last time.. I need a climate control panel from an S1, or a broken one with the face/buttons intact

That is mostly possible. Is it an electronic air
Con panel you need. If so have one that is fully functioning.

Its fairly easy to chop out the electronic armrest bits of wiring harness. There is a power lead running from the switch to the motor, and then all the other leads running to the switch need to be chopped off as far back into the loom as possible to give me enough cable to piggy back off the electric window switch feeds.

I stripped, cleaned and greased my multi earths and they have been fine. It really doesn't seem to be an issue.

It's only an issue when the "series 2 only" boys come along where there's
a discussion about the merits of both types! ;)
