Looking for a Series 1 central locking remote and receiver.
I'm a pain when it comes to keeping things original so don't want to change the plip to an S2 one.
Anyone got a spare sitting around?
Thanks
David.

http://www.mikechedzoymotorstaunton.co.uk/ has a G plate he is scrapping. I don't know if what you want is available but worth a try

Bump....
Still looking for a remote and receiver for a Series 1 XM.
Anyone got a car they're breaking or a matched set that's no longer needed?
Thanks
David.

Hi David.
Can a 1.5 series be changed easily to a Mk2 Plip system? My XM Estate 1.5 'J' Reg has a bit of a problem unlocking with the the key. No Plip at all. I don't want to try changing all the locks but would like an easy entry!
Bob.

I don't think they can be changed but I might be wrong.
I am a real fan of keeping everything original so I really want to keep the Series 1 plip without having to pay Citroen prices for one.
David.

Hi David
I have some Mk1 plips and receivers somewhere in a spares box.
Will look them out when I get the chance and PM you.
Bob
Let me know what you want in the way of locks.
I can also set you up with a chinese RF plip set.
Works well in a Mk1 and easier to fit because there is no deadlocks to make work.

Hi John,
My blue XM is off the road getting the subframe, and the rear cross member welded, I'll be through with it in the next week or so, it will go back on the road and the green 1992 Mk1.5 XM Estate will be shut down for a wee while. The green one I just bought has a tricky driver's door lock which sometimes gives me a lot of trouble getting it to unlock and I only have one key, when I put it off the road I could be doing with a new drivers door lock, or the old one re-tumblered (is that a word?). Or even a working plip, the one key I have is fitted to a non working, one button plip.
During that time I will be fixing the fuel pump leak and one or two other little jobs and there will be no hurry then. What could you do for me John? Any help would be appreciated.
Bob.

Hi Bob
Provided the Ignition lock is a SIMPLEX one I could always retumbler all the locks to use the same keys as your other car.
Have done that with some of my own cars.
Othewise I might be able to find a nearly complete secondhand lock set.
Everything depends on the condition and number of keys you have/need when making up secondhand sets.
Have a very cheap chinese 2 button RF set that might be ideal for putting in a Mk1.
Would need to do a bit of wiring and testing to prove it.
50m range goes through steel, just not all the functions I wanted for a Mk2.
Still what can you expect for £10 inc postage. Missleading adv, not worth sending item back.
John
