Yes I reckon it is, I hear that XM prices are going up but don't see anyone paying them.

Putting optimism aside, I would not sell my XM even for ten times that price

But then of course it isn't a diesel
The seller on ebay doesn't tell much about the car, though. Not even the year of manufacture, or can you guys read this off the registration?

Hi Jan,yes, the first letter in this case N = 1995, and denotes year of first registration. It maybe that the current owner has re-registered it with that registration number for that chosen combination of letters, which you can do in the UK, provided it doesn't indicate a later date of first registration and therefore may not give that year. The last two letters also indicate the geographical region of first registration.Scrapped vehicle registrations are recycled and can be purchased from the licensing authorities. The registration letter/number sequence was changed by the vehicle licensing authorities in 2001,so the year/region is indicated in a different way.I think Eire has the most logical vehicle licence plate of anywhere.

Well, having seen this one today from those nice people at WHM, perhaps it's not as daft as I first thought.

If these are truly indicative of the way prices are going, then me looking for a truly great 3 litre at a price I can afford is pretty pointless. My 2 litre SE is lacking toys and oomph but I still love it - I just want more!!

Supply and demand Peter. Someone out there would probably be prepared to pay that for it. Its still good value for money. Thats a lot of car, and lot of driving left in it as well.
