High mileage 2.5 with totally unrealistic price for both car and number plate, especially after listing faults and 'can't afford to repair it anymore'!

Sorry no picture - only one is of the bloomin' number plate! :?

Also trying to justify a £2000 price tag for the car alone because of the blasted 'scrappage sheme'. :x

Speaking of which - I imagine we'll be losing quite a few nice XMs to that confounded scheme. :x :x

No mention of Citroens but there is very little being published on what is being scrapped.

      What a saddo.

Is this seller the actual new definition of optimist?
The facts seem to have passed him by with the scrappage scheme too. :?

One of the better private plates I've ever seen was on a "typical hairdresser car"
(can't recall what exactly now, maybe an original Audi Coupe or Suzuki Vitara)
with the number H1YYA with appropriate dizzy blonde driving it...

No use mind for an Xm unless you're into karate!

or the white Roller Shadow with MAR1 and white ribbons etc etc
= very cheesy!!

I thought the switch to the modern registration number format would be the end of personalised number plates, until I saw 'LE55 TAX' on a Bentley! :D

In Japan, license plates, called 'number plates' here, are never collected, nor do they remain on the vehicle when it changes ownership. The plates are returned to the legal authority, the 'Land Transportation Authority', who scrap them.
So no nonsense of paying premium prices for a registration number.
There is a way in recent years though to personalize your plates.

Image

The characters at the top show the prefecture or the district where the vehicle is registered. Here this is Hiroshima, 2 characters
Image
The only available option is the 4 digital numbers, xx - xx.
For my XM I chose 12-12, my wife's birthday :D .
Due to the size of the vehicle and the engine displacement it fits in the category '3' for taxation purposes. This number is shown after the characters 'Hiroshima' as shown above. Category '3' vehicles have been registered with a simple '3', '33' and '31', '32', '34', '341' and other combinations starting with '3' to cope with the deluge of new registrations.
The request for the combination 12-12 could be accommodated by a computer generated '3xx' number and an available hiragana syllabary prefix of which there are 40.
