Sadly I have to say goodbye for financial reasons to my green petrol Hatchback.
Bought her 3,5 years ago at 86.000 miles. has done now 102.000. Tax till first of March, MOT until sept 9.
FSH since 1/9/2007. Timing belt, air filter, spark plugs, gear box oil change, new LHM (09/08), radiator flush, gear change selector rod, exhaust manifold, coolant reservoir, new exhaust complete (09/09), tow bar (only used one week holiday), starter motor (04/09), alternator belt (11/10). Oil change and filter four times within 15.000 miles, suspension swivel (08/10), suspension link bar both sides, improved clutch cable connection.
Never refused to start. Sunroof working in all directions. Consumption 30-33 mpg. Three New tyres (09/08).

Two bad things, one is a minor dent in sill under passenger front door. Second problem is leaking waterpump. According to garage takes three till four hours repair. Price new water pump on ebay £ 20 - £ 30.
I am still driving the car with some cans in the back to fill up.

Car is still insured in my name (full cover). So you can drive it home on your existing insurance I expect.
Best price from scrapper is £ 140. I rather see her go to another XM lover for the same price. I have to know before Monday 24/01.
Location between Basingstoke and Winchester. Tel.nr 01256 389 145. If required, will pick you up from the railway station nearby.

I will try to get some pics tomorrow. But the car is still green, bright and shiny in general.

The appetite is in the fact that you get a car for free.

1. You buy a water pump for £ 25, put it on and drive away until september's MOT or carry on driving forever or scrap it for an even better price in september.

2. You take the parts you want, like tow bar, wheels (V6 alloys) etc and send it to the scrappy. So you get your money back and have the parts for free.

In my opinion you can't loose. I would buy any car on these conditions, as long as it is a 2CV (because that is my level of repairing ability).

Anyway, before sending it to the scrapper, I just want to give some real car lovers a helping hand. But if there is no interest , the scrapper will be pleased to pick up the car, saving me some hassle.

I hope Wouter is happy for me to mention that I was the previous owner of the car - my first series one! Here are a couple of photos that I used for the ebay sale some four years ago I think. Regards, Matthew T.
