Hi, with my XM looking increasingly unlikely to pass pending mot, I am looking for a crankshaft pulley for my Xantia 1.9TD to put that on the road!
It's one with the rubber bit built in... so needs to be in good nick.

Why is the XM looking unlikely for an MOT pass?

battling to diagnose/sort abs problem (posted under electrical)
strut tops not looking healthy ( rubber coating gone, metal rusty.. do you have to remove to check properly?)
last advisory said nearside antrollbar worn?
lhm leak right up front, can't trace from where though..
exhaust is a bit exhausted..
I'm skint and not in good nick myself also without suitable place to work on it
mot due on the 10th Mar so it's all caught up with me, oh well such is life!

No you dont need to remove the tops to check them....
You will see the rubber centres UNDER the wing getting pushed outwards when they are bad...
In extream cases you will see through them in parts.. though my S1 SED XM didn't go this way, and it just pushed the rubber out downwards, and has now popped up lightly, I say lightly because they have not hit the bonnet yet...
Still partley holding onto a strand of rubber...
Body helping to hold it down....
LOL..
Bonnet on this car is already bent, as it was swapped off another car that had popped and bent the bonnet, so thats ok..

Hmmm, I was advised that the dodgy pulley would have to be cut off with a grinder.. which I have done but in my ignorance I damaged the gear behind the pulley:
Will this need to be replaced as well or will it be okay to use?

File the edge smooth again and it should be good to go again.
