Looks a bit lightweight to me for sphere removal - oil filters maybe? Anyone know the purpose of Citroen tool 4129-T?

Hi Ken,this is definitely the genuine cit p/n from the repair document, and the sketch matches.

Shown in the 1995 special tools catalogue as spanner for hard to reach spheres.
On the same page as the Citroen sphere tester, the replacable valves and nitrogen set.
So definitely intended for spheres not oil filters.

Hi Robert and John,

Thanks for putting me straight on this one - but I still have the feeling that I could manage to break the tool on one of the more reluctant spheres I have had to deal with. Maybe the steel band of the tool is made from a super strong alloy.

Never seen one of those before, it doesn't look it would stand a 4 foot bar on it, its also shiny on the inside - but if it does the job ...

oh it does the job ;) my local dealer one is stainless with ribs around the inside and has a 1/2" drive on it, you wont find a better tool for the job.
Trouble is being a bagged genuine tool folk may get carried away with the bidding.

Anyone know what the retail is on one of these or if they are still available?

I just use a heavy duty strap wrench and haven't been beaten yet.

I agree with your view.
Being a Citroen designed tool does not automatically make it fit for all eventualities.
This one looks ideal for a well maintained car but suicidal for it if used on a really locked up sphere.
