For Sale 1997 XM 2.1TD VSX MoT till end August

Ok, the time has come to put the smart roadster back on the road and that means the green XM is going to have to go.

So, Taxed till end March, MoT'd till end August. FSH file with car.

Starts, stops, drives. New rear spheres, will have good tyres all round, front struts look good to me.


Almost full service history - and overall in OK condition. There are some challenges - listed below!

1. I drove into a wooden pallisade fence in the pitch black in the pouring rain, which has dented the sill and popped some scratches on the bottoms of the nearside doors.
2. the driver's door window mechanism has broken. A typical XM fault.
3. one glow plug has gone (almost certainly), although it does start - just turns over a little while before catching - even at -10C.
4. back box missing from exhaust.
5. I fear the hg is beginning to fail but I am not losing any water, not getting any overheating, and no bubbling in the header tank - I may be panicking about it, and the issue may just be a glow plug.
6. wobble from the steering, but the tyres on the front are at the legal minimum - they would be swapped for decent ones anyway - if it still has wobbles then balancing/tracking may need sorted.
7. Heater fan unit not working - changed the temp thing in the roof has made no difference so I guess it is the electronics on the dash panel.
8. lhd matrix - lol

Price £300 as is - no haggling as I can break it for parts and sell the shell for close on £150.

Engine isn't as torquey as my white car, but I do like the slightly lower seating position from the leccie seats.
