Almost new radiator

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Almost new radiator

Post by Richard » Sat Jun 13, 2009 9:20 pm

I've an almost new radiator on S2 2.0 Turbo. It 's done no more than 5000 in my care.

Interested anyone?

God knows how I'll ship it, but we'll cross that bridge...

Dean, yes, auto and a/c.

It was a gas conversion I bought for my wife three years ago off ebay. Rubbish from the start, and expensive rubbish at that. Put me off XM's until she insisted we got her present 2.1

The car is almost complete, gas conversion and all.

The radiator was fitted the day before I collected the car - had sight of the paper work. We did about 5000 in it before real trouble set in, and expensive trouble at that!

If you're interested PM me please. I still can't think how the hell I'll ship this but... man is an inventive creature - XM's are the proof!

Richard, what state's the engine in!!? There sounds like a story waiting to be told here...

I'm after a 2.0i turbo engine as a back up in overall plans already before todays disoveries
notwithstanding the brilliant offer of engine parts from Dean!!

I've had radiators posted from ebayers in the past without any problems. Actually an LCD
telly or PC monitor box would be perfect for a raditor so it would be worth asking around
before someone skips the box that would be VERY WELL protective to post the rad in.

Things I usually see on ebay I'm interested in always seem to be in Herne Bay (real centre
of the Universe?), Great Yarmouth, St Ives, Keswick or yes, Inverness. Mind I guess being here
in the total backwater that is South Wales has it's disincentive to buying/selling things...

First Dean, I'm in Suffolk, near the Norfolk Border. If you're really interested I'll check out shipping options first thing Monday morning.

Andrew, the engine is just fine. The problem was, my wife had me buy this car off ebay, a little against my wishes, based on the fact it was a gas conversion. In practice it was burning as much petrol as gas, so mpg was ...don't go there!

Right now the block is covered in spare engine oil as I didn't understand the oil gauge in the cab, and shot a load more in. Idiot, I know.

It's a good gutsy engine ... but we were quoted over a grand to put the problem right and it just wasn't worth it. Went back to our Landrover Disco 2.5 tdi at 20 mpg and thought that was good for a big motor, that is until we had this 2.1 three months ago.

All the bits are still in the car outisde my house.

Andrew, I think we can get around packaging - if Apple can ship a computer to me from China and it works on first start we can do something.

It's the cost that's bothering me.

Is it worth while to you all?

Dean, Andrew, gotta go to bed. Been up a very long time.

I'll check the forum as soon as I wake up.

Fear not, the car is still outside the house

Sleep well everyone.
