That's the plan, Robert. The C5 is a very impressive beast, I've just had a trip to Leeds and back in it this morning (about 140 miles) and it gives effortless motoring with all the toys to keep you interested but I just prefer the XM. So, the plan now is to continue to keep and improve the white XM until the right V6 comes along at the right price.

Well I've just gone and bought the V6 XM I was after in the first place and so I'm keen to make a sale on the C5.

Hi Rob,

I take it's the Magenta/Crimson one as in featured in THIS thread (As it's now got sold on the ad.) ?
If so, well done a very nice 8-) looking XM and how did you get around SWMBO to purchase another XM before selling the C5 ?

Good luck with the C5 sale.

:)

Not that one, it went in a flash. I never got a response from the vendor but the lucky purchaser was kind enough to let me know that she had bought it.

The one I am buying appeared briefly on the CCC web forum last night and I nipped to Carlisle today to have a good look. It may be older but it has been well looked after and certainly has the potential to be a "keeper" for the sort of use I intend to give it. It seems that despite their not inconsiderable thirst, there is a market for V6 XMs; I believe that is three that have been sold in quite short order over the last few weeks.

SWMBO just sort of sighed and looked resigned. I shall suffer retribution later...

Price now reduced to £995 because I need the space and the insurance for my new XM.

Think how much petrol you can buy with the money you save by not buying a similar specced diesel!

Now sold - by the good lady while I was in Carlisle collecting my "new" XM!

The hour and a half I spent compiling an Autotrader advert was worthwhile :D
