1997 2.1 TD VSX MANUAL Hatchback For Sale (On E-Bay)

As title listing (R799 EKH) spotted on E-BAY in a nice striking WHITE coachwork, lowish miles, only 3 owners from new 2.1TD oil burner, full A/C climate control , NO missing headlamp covers and a MANUAL gearbox for a change !

Other than the bit of rust on the O/S cill where it joins the rear arch it looks like a clean tidy example inside and out including the engine bay, but I'm not to sure if there's a issue with the rear bumper on the N/S adjacent to the rear wheel/tyre as on photo # 3 it looks like it's cracked/damaged but in photo # 4 it looks okay

What do you think guys ? Perhaps its worth putting that as question to the vendor if someone is thinking of going for it !

So as it's been off the road for 10 months and no mention of an MOT/TAX and in Cumbria unless of course your not far from there (like David H or maybe even maybe worth it for Robert to ship to Ireland so long as it's not a penny over £200 ) it could prove a bit of hassle to recover it after its been bought, but it looks nice enough to put the effort in if that's the case with it being a MANUAL !

Hi here we have my old xm , I would love to keep this lovely old car but its been off the road now for 10 months as I now live abroad [ on sorn ] .
It starts and drives lovely but has been standing over the winter . I now realise it will just deteriorate if left .
As far as I remember the driver's window is not working the abs light is on and the climate control is temperamental [ fuse ] .
I loved this car and will be sorry to see it go but hope somebody will take it on and get some use from it .
Its a very low mileage diesel that returns 50 mpg .

Edit :- This XM lover/owner is definitely selling up as I've just spotted these other two items which may be of interest ?

An S1 LEATHER INTERIOR (Look's like some thing been stored against one of the front seats and stretched the leather) and a set of ALLOY WHEEL'S too, this could be a Christmas and a Birthday for some-one if they bag all of these three listing's !

A rare car that, there were very few manual 2.1s sold after '96 but it will have an EPIC pump which are fine when they work allright but I wouldn't let that put you off buying it.

If it had been an estate I might have thought about it - they are even rarer, I haven't seen a Mk2 manual estate for sale in the last couple of years or so.

Well I'm bidding on it, despite its drawbacks (rust, ABS warning light, air-con malfunction, no MoT) and rather taken with the leather interior he's also selling. Can anyone tell me if this would fit an S2 ?!

Yes the leather will fit, however the door cards are a different shape, but will also fit.

I have a Mk2 estate in white, looks very smart when its clean - which isn't very often. Well worth buying that, it could be the only one left, I have only ever seen two other post '96 manuals. Brilliant car 50+ mpg attainable if you drive like me - an old man

I inspected this desirable (manual with factory aircon) 2.1TD as it is only 10 minutes away from me but decided it had too many drawbacks for me - major rust being one of them. 10 months standing in the open near the seaside is not kind to any car.

That's a shame, I haven't really had a rust problem with any of mine apart from the edges of the rear wings. No I lie, my sons needed welding last year because I don't see it often enough and had not oiled the underneath lately but it has done nearly 300k miles.
