Xantia Activa £1 starting price

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Norman

Battery removal and reconnection should make no difference.
The memory chip in the ECU holds not just the stored starting codes but also a flag that tells it whether or not to check for a code.
This is Static CMOS memory that keeps its information even when not powered like the security code in a radio.
The code/no code flag only changes by plugging or unplugging the keypad with the engine running.

If you do disconnect a keypad on a car to isolate it then write the code on the ECU with a permanent marker.
The chances of remembering it after a couple of years is fairly low.

Hi Paul

By P plate the Citroen keypad security system should have progressed to dual code with plip bypass so that if you use the remote to open the car the keypad goes green for one miniute allowing a code free start. Most of us only play with the earlier security versions so the advice may not be perfect.

Xantia ownership will never be the same for you again Paul!! If you're paranoid about being locked out
or for some bizarre reason :) want the keypad reactivated, pop a note of the keycode number on a slip of
paper and put it in the driver's sunvisor pocket.

Best keycode is the one that's the same as the RP number so you'll have it stamped somewhere on the car!!

Does it work the same for XM's too??

Id love to chuck the keypad away on the V6 and put the mobile phone holder back in its place!

just done it on the P reg red Xantia TD and it has worked! So same will go for the V6.. andrew, you just lost the S1 V6 now

Didn't expect to have the chance anyhow - not after you've driven it!!
Just give me a shout on it when you ever decide to sell it on!

Andrew, if you had a V6 for a V6 then yes.. as I said, I do prefer the S2 car...

We decided this one has 60k on it, so if you had one double that miles Id consider something... :D

Well if anyone still wants a Xantia V6 in Green with 58k miles on the clock then please let me know.

I have one more that I need to shift to get the parents off my back.

It's a 1996 P Reg, Green with the grey leather/suede interior.

It's got after market wheels on that are the same size as the original Xantia alloys with 4 good tyres.

Paul has seen it and can back me up when I say it's not in bad condition. Few marks on the bodywork but apart from that it's nice.

Hoping to get around £650 for it, it will come with 12 months MOT but no tax.

Regards

David.
