2.0 sei turbo possibly for sale

Just to confirm that I am now almost certainly looking to pass on one of my fleet to a good home, which is a 1993 2.0 sei turbo auto in platinum and really lovely condition, with all the bells and whistles including full leather and working cruise control! Being a late top spec series one car it has the 24v trim, but rather more acceptable mpg and a nice smooth auto box. The car has the lowest mileage in my collection at under 75K and has been very well looked after by myself and previous owners. Reasons for the reluctant sale include shortage of space and the need to finance other projects, plus I have another one the same in Mandarin that my wife will not part with!! All being well I should get an ebay listing up this weekend and will advise further developments. With many thanks for your interest and regards, Matthew T.

Many thanks for your interest Dean and I have sent you a PM. As an approximate idea, the black identical spec. Prestige I sold about a year ago made £1,300 and that car had twice the mileage, plus platinum is also much nicer! Best regards, Matthew T.

Best of luck with the sale Matthew - it certainly looks and reads very well indeed.

Hopefully it'll go to an enthusiastic member that will continue to cherish it and bring it to CCC Rallies... These S1 cars need looking after...

Many thanks Franklin and I hope to get some more photos up once the weather clears!! This car has been the most reliable in my fleet ironically and the condition really is amazing, partly due to the low mileage and care by previous owners. I think the late series one cars are also certainly better built and finished, when I compare this car to my earlier V6s, ie. fewer squeaks and rattles, pus the engine and gearbox are very quiet and smooth. Best regards, Matthew T.

We all know that Mandarin is the best colour... :) but why wont your Wife part with that one, which is higher mileage?

The mandarin is a nice colour I agree Will, but I also love platinum on an XM. Our car has just over 100k and had around 84k at my acquisition Will. For some reason my other half just bonds with some cars and not others, like us all I suppose, although we both love the gold V6 at least! With regards Matthew T.

It's nice to see some interest in your car already Matthew, it should achieve a decent price.
For the plip, check the solder joints onto the LED. They crack and cause intermittent operation.

Thank you Will and also for your suggestion abou the plip. I have posted a photo of the plip circuit board and wondered if you could highlight which solder joints I need to check? With regards, Matthew T.
