You need to confirm the barrel type if you intend to swap the electrical part over.
Your car was supplied with a Simplex barrel but many replacement barrels are the better quality Valeo ones.
I can find a Simplex barrel (no wiring) with all the tumblers removed (any key works it).
I have stripped a few to get stocks of tumblers for re-keying other locks.
Not yet found my way into the second set of tumblers on the Valeo ignition switches.
