Series 1 24v XM

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Series 1 24v XM

Post by David Hallworth » Sun Jun 03, 2012 3:09 pm

It is with much sadness that I am probably going to have to sell my Series 1 24v XM as I've had an offer accepted on a property and unfortunately I can't keep all of my cars as well.

The car is a 1991 J plate in Emerald Green with an unmarked black leather interior. There are a couple of small marks on the nose cone and a slight dent/crease in the rear quarter panel which I've been meaning to sort out since I got it.

The car has 10 months MOT and 6 months tax on it. All 4 tyres have good tread on them too. Car has covered 122k miles, 80k of which were done in the first 4 years.

It has just had a new thermostat fitted to it and less then 200 miles ago has every sphere on the car changed.

I'll post some pictures up of the car later but at the moment I'm trying to work out what the car is worth!?!?

David.

Car is located in Glasgow.

Only problem it has is the engine management light is on. According to Lexia it says there's a short circuit to -ve on the throttle potentiometer. There isn't though however I'll hopefully have this sorted by the time she goes.

Car has also just had 2 new windscreen washer pumps fitted to it and a brand new battery also.

Price wise I'm not sure at the moment.

Right... I've decided that I'm going to be asking £3,750 for the car.

For this price I'll have the dent in the rear quarter panel professionally repaired.

Thanks

Thanks Matthew,

I've got to admit if it doesn't sell I'll not be upset but at least it appears to the other half that I'm making an effort to reduce the numbers!

Well it's a sad day...

The XM is now sold and the new owner is due to pick the car up tomorrow morning at 9.30 when I meet him at Glasgow Airport.

I've not driven the car for a few weeks until today and I must say that now I know it's going I'm pretty upset to be honest. Although in the two years I've had the car it's only done around 1300 miles so it's really not getting the use it deserves.

Fingers crossed the new owners pleased with her!
