Doesnt look good does it, what happened to the 2nd bidder who i believe was only £100 behind the winner, i doubt it will do any better this time. Mind did anyone notice the bids were racing up until everyone here started questioning the mialage and history of the car and the bidding stopped dead at the reserve, has anyone seen it in the flesh?

Well, I asked the chap the pertinent question and this is the reply --

' Hi the winner didn't pay in time and the underbidders didn't reply! A very poor state of affairs!'

They'd probably seen the previous thread and realised it was about £600 overpriced and particularly in this market. Too many undisclosed miles, too many undisclosed facts and records. I'd not mind a 24v but not bloody this one!

Now the reserve may be justified if everything on it is virtually brand new and the gearbox/engine are going to last,
but as TE says that's all too much of a gamble. If there was direct talk and total transparency in the description with
a mileage that could be pinned down, plus any kind of service history rather than a passing reference to the cars' past,
I'm sure people would be more confident bidding against what appears to be a high reserve - if it is £2k again. I must admit
I never read into the previous auction description that it had been fitted with a different/new engine and believe that only
the dash clocks were renewed.

I've actually been a bit disappointed with the black 2.5 Exclusive I've recently bought as it doesn't have an ounce of presence
or the looks that a sand gold metallic/boggo silver or Tim's Olympic Blue give the car.

Still reckon that funny green/grey colour of my 2.1 is the best, and arguably the nicest colour I've seen on a car full stop - there's just something timeless about it. Different without being fashionable.

Have my 2.1 at home on the drive now. Needs a respray and a bit of bodywork TLC, though none of it my fault I should add...

Anyone got any mint condition S1 hubcaps? THought not!

I can't make definite promises, but I'm sure I may have some spares for you and Ciarán.
Can't say I like plastic wheeltrims stuck on top of my alloys = only Citroen could cover
a large %age area of an alloy with a flat featureless plastic trim! The five spoke pattern
is far nicer left bare - just find a cap the correct diameter to stick in the wheel centre!

Yes I could very well have some of them too, with no wheels to match them either.. I DO know I have 1 brand new one because originally I had a set 3 three and 4 wheels, but things changed, and I got no wheels and aquired a few more caps!!

One of which I know is the new one..
