Anyone know this car or bought from the man?

Seems steep but I guess they're starting to command these kind of prices?

Re: Anyone know this car or bought from the man?
Seems to be the going rate for a top-notch dealer supplied one nowadays.
It's good news as XM values and prices seem to be genuinely climbing as they become an accepted classic and people get to know just how good they are.
I'd rather pay a couple of big ones for a really good XM rather than on some modern thing any day...
I'm sure you could buy quite a late modern thing for the same money but you'd end up regretting it very quickly..
I drove my youngest daughter's Nissan Pixo (Suzuki Alto) yesterday after giving it a service. There are no words I can use on here to describe just how wretchedly awful that car is
Fine if you like cars with hard seats, non-existent suspension, an engine that sounds like a food mixer and steering that seems to be made of wood but I don't... At least driving one is a good way to understand the qualities of an XM...

So why on earth did you let her get one then? Surely advice from dad should of been get Citroen or Peugeot, we can fix those without garage costs.... and they ride better.CitroJim wrote:

It was her granddad’s car Paul. When he gave up driving (at age 88) in April he gave his car to Siany for her 17th birthdaycitroenxm wrote: So why on earth did you let her get one then?

It's a three year old car and when Siany had it the car had done just over 1000 miles. She's put nearly three thousand more on it since. It';s not been a spot of bother at all - absolutely faultless in that respect.
It was a really lovely gesture of dad to do that and Siany loves the car to little pieces. She even calls it Pixie

The very worst part was bringing it up here from Somerset. Robyn and I under cover of great secrecy took a train to Taunton and drove the Pixo back - it was purgatory

And it's special to her because she learned to drive and passed her test in it. First time and with no formal lessons...
One thing I will say is the Pixo is so easy to drive... If you can drive a pedal car then a Pixo will be no problem.

Sorry guy's that I'm not continuing to discuss (Nissan's or Suzuki's), so this is back on topic now as I think the OP (member) is asking for help in deciding on an possible XM purchase

But for your info Mark has had many many XM's over the years as a car trader/dealer (And other top of the range Citroen's) which he used to supply the likes of the XM Centre back in their day's !
However I've never bought a vehicle from him, but I have bought some XM spare parts off a 2.5TD Exclusive he broke for spares a couple of year ago now and personally I found him a very nice pleasant/honest person to deal with !
Are you sure you want an Auto model though ?
As Chris has a very nice 2.1TD VSX Manual model for sale (Albeit an Estate) as discussed in THIS thread !
XMX
.

Thats a bit weird as I posted the FS spot in THIS thread and supposedly sold on 26th October according to the E-bay listingedelweiss wrote: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1997-R-Citroe ... 039#viTabs

Not often a journey on public transport can be called the luxury option.CitroJim wrote: The very worst part was bringing it up here from Somerset. For a moment i thought you must have been lent a Renault Clio, as I was from a bodyshop.CitroJim wrote: I drove my youngest daughter's Nissan Pixo (Suzuki Alto) yesterday after giving it a service. There are no words I can use on here to describe just how wretchedly awful that car is![]()

i couldn't believe just disconnected the steering felt, it was completely devoid of feedback.
