Oxidation problems with your original XM steel trims?

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I can confirm the stainless trims really enhance the exterior of an Xm. My white one has had them fitted for a couple of years now and they look far better than the old ones which go white.

I also got the new bumper trims from Citroen for it, however im not sure if they will still be available now, or if they are i cant imagine there being many left.

I will get a set of these eventually for my series 1 XM, I have new front and rear bumper "chrome" strips for it, but they all won't be going on until it is resprayed.

Pity the front and rear bumpers aren't do-able.

I guess you could get the strips painted in chrome paint and lacquered over to stop scratching.

I took my front and rear ones off and sprayed them with silver hammerite - not brilliant but it looks better than it did. Take them off on a warm day though, they snap very easily - guess how I know.

When i fitted the new bumper trims i sealed the ends of the new ones with sealent. In a hope it might keep them together a bit longer and stop the water from getting in.

Brian Primmer on XM-L offers these too.

Not sure how much he charges for them.

Mine were looking shabby so I removed the inserts from the trims ,smoothed out the bumps and bubbles with some wet and dry,and stuck self adhesive chrome foil (fablon) on ,looks great been there three years,no signs of deteriorating.
