A member on here refurb his own side trims on his car.. A process I'm uncertain of that removed the plastic coating cover and then treated the trim under it..

Can't remember who it was now.. Anyone?

Many thanks for that, but I'm hoping (maybe in vain) for something off the shelf, as I'm not in a position to fiddle with them & would probably bollox it up anyway ;-). I spoke to my painter this morning & we talked about coming up with an alternative but we drew a blank other than the obvious of painting them, the small ones are a bit uneven anyway, so that wouldn't be perfect ;-( Surely someone in France, The Netherlands or Holland maybe has them, they love them there don't they!!

There was a Dutch supplier who offered them a good while ago on one of the UK websites.
Search for posts by Mr Taubb.
I suspect though that he was the original source anyway.
All that was supplied was the side strips not the difficult curved ones.

Thanks John, having a look for him now. This is the kind of thing that I wish the CCC would take a lead on, something that would really make a difference to members, remanning stuff that people really want that you can't get, hence why I gave up on them ;-(

I'll let everyone know if I find any.

You can wetsand and polish the originals if there is no corrosion under the clear layer of plastic.
I have cut down ones from the doors that have damage to make the smaller parts quite a few times now.
Personally I dislike the stainless ones as the are too bright/shiny and look wrong.

I polished and remade some on this car I did for a friend.

Great job in the pictures there ;-) I didn't realise there were different version, SS & other! Some of mine are very lumpy, so I'm not sure this would work, also I'm very lazy, so I want to pay & go ;-)

The originals are plastic inserts. The s/s ones are re-made 'clip in' items, available iirc just for the straight (side) sections.
