Mk2 2.1 Tdi Auto for sale...
Hello all,
It is with great regret that Charlotte and I are being forced to sell our XM. Unfortunately Charlottes Uncle has been told some bad news and we are travelling to and from Crowborough and back a few times a week so we cannot afford the fuel. So who better to sell our XM to than a group of enthusiasts that will treat it with the respect it deserves? I'm doing my best to sell it for her as she's not in the best state at the moment.
Anyway, about the car:
2.1 TD SX Auto. 168K Miles, Long MOT, Brand New Tax, Black, Full leather interior, New Pioneer stereo with CD player and Aux in. (Still have the original which will come with the car)
Incredibly smooth auto box. The nicest example I've been in. Absolutely beautiful. (I'll post some pictures soon)
All electrics working!
The leather has come away on the back of the front seats. Not ripped or torn, it looks like it just needs tucking back in... Any ideas?
Looking for around £1400 for it, any questions, please ask!

Hi guys, thanks for the kind words.
It really is such a beautiful car, we're so sad it has to go.
If anyone is after one please point them in our direction.
Many thanks,
Matt

Hi Guys
Just some more info. Pictures soon.
A few days after I bought the car I found out about my uncle, and realised I'd have to be doing mega mileage, none of which on motorways. The XM hasn't been getting great economy; Philippe, the man I bought it from, said I should expect 45mpg, and it's achieving 22 - but then I'm mostly driving along B roads and stuck in traffic. I'm going to have to go back to the 206, no option. I took the car back after 2 weeks, said keep the tax which was brand new and the stereo I had fitted, and said pay me back as and when you can. At first this was no problem but all of a sudden it is. I've known the man for 7 years, worked for him for 5, and go to little horwood with him each year. I really didn't expect this.
I have a lot on my plate right now, and I'm seriously considering any sort of offer just to recoup my losses. This could be a great opportunity for someone to pick up a pretty damn near perfect XM for peanuts. It really is a lovely drive and is nice and clean. I'm sad it has to go but I'm between a rock and a hard place, so to speak. I want this all to be over so I can focus on the important things right now.

I'm very sorry to hear that you have to sell your new XM. Sounds a bit rough not being able to give it back where you got it too.
Best of luck with the sale, I'm sure someone will buy it and give you a good price for it. Sounds like a good car.
I know what you mean by them being a little thirsty round town, they seem to rev a bit, nature of having a 4 speed auto.
A real real shame.

22mpg sounds rather low, I used to get 34mpg out of my 2.1 auto and it was caned everywhere.
If you have to take a loss on the car that could amount of a lot of additional fuel.

True, and doing a high mileage in an XM is a rather more comfy and relaxing experience than doing same in a 206.Dieselman wrote: If you have to take a loss on the car that could amount of a lot of additional fuel.

Good morning,
First of all I am sorry to hear your news, sounds like tough times.
I am interested in your car, where abouts are you located? Do you have any pictures? What is the history like? What mileage was the cambelt last changed? History of the spheres / hydraulics?
Sorry for all the questions
Kind regards,
James
