FS: Leather interior for Hatchback

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

FS: Leather interior for Hatchback

Post by kingp » Sun Sep 01, 2013 2:10 pm

I've been offered a leather interior in pretty good nick but for a hatchback.

Comes with Doors cards and has been stored for a good few months but the owner is only asking £125 for it.

He doesn't think they are heated and as im new to XM's i dont know if they should be or not but has said all the motors and switches were working when it was removed.

No use to me as its from a hatch but thought someone here may want or know of someone wanting to upgrade theirs to it :)

Hatch leather can be fitted to estates too with an additional little bracket needed for the rear seat back rest to secure onto.

I thought hatch leather was too small on the rear bench/seat back to fit snuggly??

Is leather generally heated or was it an option?

Heated leather was optional. And chances are they wouldn't work no anyway.

The back seat base that you sit on is exactly the same size on both hatches and estates with the same anchor points on the floor pan. The Back rest part differs on estates in that the 2 locating pins that the back rest lock onto are further apart than on hatchbacks. But if you remove the 2 locking pins from the estate, and make a little bracket that you screw into the shell of the car where the pins originally where, and then fit the locking pin at the other end of the bracket your hatchback seat back rest will locate on your bracket and lock on the new pin locations.

Nah,

I want AC more than leather initially as it more useful in winter than in summer and if i get leather it has to be heated :D

You wont get working heated leather will.. the elements are far to near the top and delicate and break easy. They will all need repair and its not easy..

As long as they aren't part of the leather cover that bit doesn't bother me as at worst some generic ones could be stuck between foam and cover cheaply enough :)

I think they are part of the underside of the leather covering..
