Yup, thats a stainless system Tim..

Standard S2 24v systems are DEALER ONLY, and they are £600 quid.. so an extra £300 for a stainless system that should last a bit longer.

They certainly used to be £600 from the dealer. They're a bit more then that now though!

You could get an exhaust place to make up a system for cheaper than that out of stainless and be a one off as well!

Sounds about right and much better IMO.

Last time I has one done I just turned up with the car and left them to it and the next time I knew it was done I could hear the engine started up and they has spent about 4hrs getting it right :)

The thing that worries me about a stainless one is noise. They can be a bit tinny and loud in my experience on other cars and one lovely thing about the standard heavy exhaust on the S2 V6 is that it's whisper quiet.

Any replacement system for me would have to be at least as quiet as OEM and £960 is a hell of a chance to take to discover it's noisy, tinny and nasty.

The original system is made of very heavy material and will take a bit of repairing before it's totally scrap. Often they fail on the 2 into 1 joint before the transverse box and they're quite amenable to repairs in this area.
