FS: XM 2l Petrol Turbo 1995 S2 Silver Project Car

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

FS: XM 2l Petrol Turbo 1995 S2 Silver Project Car

Post by Michael P » Sun Sep 06, 2009 8:59 pm

Hello!

It reluctantly has to go to a new home (I hope) and get sorted. Lots of description and plenty of pictures you can zoom into under:

http://www.mpdevice.talktalk.net/xm/index.html

I will put it on e-bay for £199 starting bid.

Regards

Michael

I'd be very interested in saving this car if some of the experts could point to what the likely problem is with the exhaust ;)

Likely a cracked exhaust manifoild. I've seen this on a normally aspirated 2.0i before and I believe I've got the same issue
with a TCT engined Activa. It's a swine of a job to get in there and remove the manifold. :( Nice looking car mind.

I had a cracked manifold on my NA 2.0, and I suspect the 2.0 turbo has the same problem. A nuisance, but not a good reason to get rid of the car.

Well I'm going to look at this one next weekend and Michael will be listing it on Ebay this coming weekend on a 7 day listing. :D
As its over 6 years since I had an XM any hints on what to look for would be appreciated. Also where do I locate a manifold?
I'd also have to admit to being more than a little excited ;)
Is the long search nearly over?????

N/A manifold's are notoriously weak, they were used on 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 pug and cit engines, the turbo ones are totaly different and as far as i know were not a known weak point although they will fail the same as any other manifold, it could be the gasket or the doughnut seal on the downpipe the only way to find out is have a look :) , i do like buying a new car it is fun isnt it 8-) i hope it turns out ok for you!

Nice car for £268........anyone on here get it?

Wouldn't have minded it myself if it had an auto box.

I really do hope the buyer isn't of a Peugeot persuasion for the longterm future of the car once the
TCT has been ripped out to become part of another "unfinished project" in the Max Power small ads.
The Puggerisers usually value the engine from £300 upwards. :(

Mind, I could do with a straight nearside rear door off ebay when it reappears for spares again.
