How do you tell if they are S1 or S2? Decent price indeed.

Series 1 late high spec car so chances are they will be heated.
They have mechanical spring seat belt tensioners which is the key feature visible to decide type.
Early and low spec Mk1's had untensioned seat belts.
Mk2's all had explosive seat belt tensioners.

Would they be a pain to put in a s2 vsx?

Probably not! I have a set of wood effect door cards that would go nicely with these seats to finish any interior off..

Vsx already has electric seats so it should be a straight swap an plug in for power to the seats.

Swopping the bases over isn't that big a chore. If you are going to swop the interior over, you will be able to swop the bases over. There are large torx headed bolts holding the base to the seat frame. You'll need 12V battery and cable on hand to make the runners go back and forward to clear the bolt heads.

I also have a complete black leather interior (from a -92 Berline)
Incl. consol and panels for all 4 doors. Electrics and ass-heater works.
No damage at all to seems and leather in perfect shape.

Never any from an estate though and penrith isnt too far from me really

Its only the car rear seat back that does not fit an estate.
Weld brackets to move the seat back top corner fixings in 30mm or so and the car seat back will fit.
Make sure you get the car rear seat side squabs then all will be fine.
Evey other part of the car and estate body is dimensionally identical.
Note that car leather rear seats are all one piece.
Estate rear leather always came as split seats which is why it is so sought after.
