very late XM estate

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Andrew

I have done one on the black hatch, or at least I changed the thrust bearing, would only have required the removal of another six bolts to change the whole thing - but it wasn't worn!

About second to a head gasket I would say, took me about a week doing a couple of hours a day. What's the rest of the car like and how many miles?

And - where you?

Still looking!?

Do you fancy a "low miles" (140odd k ;)) green s2 auto VSX estate that needs a clutch?
NO legals but nice solid car though I've no idea what it's worth!

Note: attached trailer and towcar not included!

It's a 2.1 manual with 140k miles and it drove fine when I got it off ebay
= one everyone missed!!

Not now though with a goosed clutch - but how that happened is another
story... :?

I'm not sure what I'm doing with it and have only had it a few weeks
- one of the last journeys KYAC (the towcar) made. Rides superbly and
just has a stuck sunroof and a bit of crustiness on the driver's side rear
flitch panel before the wheelarch but for a s2 estate the body is very
solid - prefer my pewter grey/platinum s1 manual 2.1 if I had to use
one at all - may keep the s2 and fix it but had a bit of a rethink on the
fleet and some things will need to be moved on.

Dont you means its very solid for a S2 car Andrew ...

Ok, what did you do with the cutch? maybe you need an auto! :D

I didnt know you had any estates Andrew, thats new to me. Looks tidy though, 140K is quite low for a diesel estate, average mileage for a Nreg car in fact.

I reckon that towbar might have had something to do with it... ;)

At the moment (or at least in this thread!) assume I mean the exact opposite of anything I say!

Yes, the s1 is mint!! And though it has a 'working' clutch the previous guy reckoned it slipped but I never
got it to towing or driving up very steep hills (I'm in Wales don't forget!) so I guess there's a crank seal
leaking oil onto the clutch intermittently dependent on usage?

I think an auto would've been totally mullared too! The towbar may have contributed to problems yes!
I much prefer the Cx estates and have quite a few of them - best estate/towcar ever!

An Xm 2.5 estate could be a very handy machine but they're all parked in Salisbury aren't they? ;)
