S1 V6 sei 1992 - 'The Project' - now sold!

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

I managed to clean the car yesterday that unfortunately is still languishing outside our front gate! The replacement starter motor required arrived swiftly and after some minor modifications to fit the car worked well for about five minutes and then packed up!! I think I made a mistake in ordering the cheapest one available on ebay and have now arranged a return and purchased elsewhere. There is nothing else to report at this stage, although I remain quite pleased with the car and especially the general condition of the underneath, bodywork and interior and the sound of the engine! I have also sought a new logbook although I am hoping eventually to reclaim the original number, K120 CJH. With regards, Matthew T.

That does look very nice.
I have those wheels for mine when I get around to refurbing them. I agree they are the nicest wheels!

The colour is actually Cobalt Russ just the same as Will's car, although it does look more steely grey in the picture! The wheels are in great condition, possibly due to the low mileage and a careful previous owner! Regards, Matthew T.

Wheels are indeed rather nice, Matt. Never looked at them that closely before, but, if all are exactly the same, presumably, on the other side of the car, the 'circular saw' effect becomes a 'trailing finger' . . . if you see what I mean . . . Both of which would look good.

They do indeed! If you're OCD like I am you might have a bit of a problem accepting this but I still love them regardless. Ideally I'd love to have the trailing finger on all four corners though 8-)

At long last I have made a proper start on this 'project', which in the first instance involves removal of the engine and auto gearbox and a thorough repair of the box before refitting. The car is now in position with some initial stripping off, as will be seen from the photos, which I carried out over a couple of hours yesterday pm. Fortunately the engine does not require any significant work due to only having around 75K and runs very sweetly. I will entrust the gearbox strip and rebuild to a local specialist who fixed my earlier auto. Other future attention includes welding the sills and ideally removing a few dents, replacing the crudely patched rear bumper and some new paint in a few locations! Regards, Matthew T.
